Will Sustaining Arts help me frame art?
Yes. Most of our art is already framed, mounted or wrapped. However, we custom frame the art in our gallery. Check out Framing under GALLERY on the menu.
Can I buy a frame for my metal print?
Yes. Even though the prints look great and very contemporary without a frame, you can request a frame. For adding on custom frames to your metal print, ask Julie to include one of the frames you see on www.Magnachrome.com. She will then send you a quote.
Can I hang art from Sustaining Arts in direct sunlight?
It is best to keep all artwork away from direct sunlight. Indirect window light doesn’t damage our artwork. We use sturdy materials and light-fast colors, colors that don’t fade easily. You will be able to enjoy your art for a lifetime.
How do I know that the colors of Sustaining Art’s art on my screen are accurate?
Every monitor is different. Because we know this, Sustaining Arts clarifies your choice of color in the following ways:
Original Art:
We will gladly use Sherman-William or Benjamin Moore paint swatches to confirm which are the true, original colors that you will receive. For your convenience, we will send you the color swatches to verify the colors. if you live near our gallery, make an appointment with Julie to see the art in person.
Metal Prints:
If you are concerned about color accuracy of the print you want to order, just let Julie know which print you want and she will send you a mini-metal sample to be sure that you like the color.
Can I buy a metal print in a custom size?
Yes, you can specify the size you want to Julie and she will order it for you.
Do Sustaining Arts artists paint on metal or is a photo of the original placed onto metal?
A photo of the original is placed on the metal.
Can I pay installments?
We can always work out installments if you need to. Just get in touch and we can discuss the best option.
What is the best way to handle the artwork once it is received?
Overall, it is best to either wear gloves when handling artwork, or, lift the art from the back side. This ensures that smudges and any hand prints won’t get onto the artwork.
Will I be taxed?
If you live outside of California, USA, then you will not be taxed in the United States. If you live in another country, you will need to pay taxes in your country to pick up the purchase. This cost could be as high as 15%, though is usually from 7 to 10% of the original cost.
What does Insurance cost for shipping?
The cost to add insurance for single shipments is generally between 1.5–4% of the item value.
Where do I pick up my purchase?
Get in contact with Julie at [email protected] and arrange a time to pick up your new purchase at 930 Dwight Way, Suite 10A, Berkeley, California.
How long does shipping take?
We strive to get your purchase to you within two weeks. If we can get our artwork out the door within two days, we get it to you faster. Should you need a very speedy delivery, we will charge you the amount needed for that specific allotment of shipping time.
What is your return policy?
Good Condition: We use the utmost care to thoroughly package your purchase. Should you receive it in good condition and realize it is not the right fit for you, then we will take it back if you pay for shipping. You can exchange it for another work of art on the Sustaining Arts website. If the new art you choose is a different price, we will send you a partial refund or ask for an additional fee. We will make this exchange one time only.
Damaged: Should you receive Sustaining Arts’ artwork damaged (has not happened so far), we will reimburse you for your shipping costs after you show us the damaged area through email or text and once we confirm that your purchase can’t be repaired.
